Let’s talk about changing your thinking as the Montessori Guide.
There is so much that must happen internally before we can flourish to become a centered, organized Montessori Guide as you nurture happy, normalized children.
What do you know about… limiting beliefs as the Montessori Guide? What are some of your limiting beliefs?
If you are looking to building a centered, organized Montessori Guide in yourself, nurture happy, normalized children and want to create smooth, successful Montessori days, then you are in the right place!
Let me know in comments what you know about this topic, what you have applied, what you have tried that worked, what you have tried that didn’t work and if you have any questions as we get into this training.
As you delve deeper into your job responsibilities as the Montessori Guide in the Montessori environment, you will need to look in before looking out.
As you watch or listen to this training, know that you will be able to get more information than what is included in this blog post.
I really want to encourage you to take the time to watch or listen and take notes.
This will be helpful to you now and in the future.
#1 Change your thinking
Whether you are wondering about a successful Montessori homeschool schedule or how to apply certain principles in a Montessori environment, your success starts inside, right between your two ears.
Yes, I am talking about your mind.
The way that you are thinking about yourself, your performance as The Montessori Guide, your lack of knowledge and other things will spill over into your work and that is what children will absorb.
You need to focus internally and be free from the Montessori Curriculum pressure.
Let me share with you a quote that depicts perfectly what I am trying to share with you.
“You must learn a new way to think before you can master a new way to be.” Marianne Williamson
Stages to Changing your Thinking – Part 1
1 Discomfort
The Montessori philosophy and its creator, Maria Montessori, focus a lot on The Montessori Guide being centered and organized.
It is very important because so much hinges on her/his internal and mental state.
If you are doing Montessori at home or you are implementing Montessori at a school or daycare, the bottom line is the same.
It all circles back to you, the Montessori Guide.
The word “discomfort” might sound negative to you, but you actually need to feel uncomfortable where you are to actually set changes into motion.
Are you in this stage?
2 Awareness
Once you are uncomfortable where you are and know you need to change your way of thinking, then you begin stage 2, which is “awareness.”
Awareness of what? So much!
Some of these include: Montessori education requirements, a Montessori album with lessons, the set up of the Montessori classroom, Montessori materials and more.
Once you are aware of things that you will be responsible for and that you need to have a plan, you can actually acknowledge that there’s a job to do.
Being aware of things about Montessori gives you more hunger to find out more and more importantly, finding out how to implement those things, right?
Are you in this stage?
3 Searching
So now, you move to stage 3, which is “searching.”
Searching for more… searching for depth…
For instance, you are looking to discover what a day in the life of a Montessori looks like.
And what a Montessori work is supposed to be set up and presented to the child, among other things.
You buy or get Montessori books for teachers from the library to study more.

Stages to Changing your Thinking – continued
4 Learning
This beautiful stage 4, learning (or Montessori learning), is oh so special!
You are now going beyond searching.
You are finding information.
You are absorbing the knowledge.
It is so important and extremely valuable!
The more you learn, the more you understand.
And the more you understand, the more you will apply.
And the more you apply, the more the children you serve will be nurtured.
And the more these children are nurtured, the more they will make the world a better place.
Are you in this stage?
5 Trusting
And now, we have arrived to the last stage: TRUSTING.
By this, I mean trusting yourself.
Trust, in itself, is very tough to do.
It requires a lot of courage and strength to do.
Trusting yourself can be just as hard to do as to trust others… sometimes harder because we put so much on ourselves.
Now that you have stepped away from the discomfort, the awareness has been magnified, which has led you to searching for more and ultimately, learning more about the Montessori philosophy, you will find that the changing of your mind has happened.
Isn’t that amazing?!
You will now find yourself more confident, more decisive, more in control and more organized.
Yes! You can say that you are a centered, organized Montessori Guide!
There are many ways in which you can leverage resources that will keep you in this beautiful stage of trust.
One of those resources is a Montessori teacher planner that goes beyond your general weekly planner because it will keep you on track.
Are you in this stage?
In Conclusion
I hope that this 5-Stage journey has opened your eyes to notice that the first thing is to change your way of thinking.
And it is my biggest desire that now that you have a clear path forward with these stages, that you will commit to going through each one faithfully.
