My children are fascinated studying and learning about spiders! We read fiction and nonfiction books and then, I come up with a cool activity. In this case, we made a fun DIY Spider snack for preschool kids and older ones, too! This edible craft can also be made as Halloween spider snacks if you celebrate that holiday.

Fun DIY Spider Snack
I will show you two spider themed snacks that kids will enjoy making with you!
1 Take a donut and make about 8 lines around the donut with the black gel frosting (see picture below).
2 Now, connect the lines with slightly curved lines. Make 2 rows all the way around. Now it looks like a spiderweb!
3 To make this fun spider snack for Preschool kids and older, you have two options.
For option #1, you can use a drop of the gel frosting to glue the edible eyes on a donut hole and to make a smile and 4 legs on either side. See the picture below.
I prefer this one. Option #2 is to not use the edible eyes, but rather just make the eyes with the black gel frosting. Then take either a black coffee stirrer or a black pipe cleaner and cut it into 8 pieces. Place 4 pieces on either side of the face.
So now, with 3 easy steps, you have a fun and beautiful (and delicious) spider snack! Don’t you just love it?!
