Let’s Paint Wooden Animals! A Preschool Art Project

This is such a fun art project! We put it together and gave it to our 3-year old as a present. She LOVED it!

This is a simple set of wooden animals and some washable paints with a paintbrush.

You can find several different sets like this one or this one and even separate animals.

I have seen a rooster and even a 3-D peacock and wooden owl wind chimes!

She had a wonderful time painting and coming up with different stories as she painted the animals.

Soon, Brother was intrigued and joined in.

I loved watching my 3-year old be so focused, so engrossed in this project and how careful and meticulous she was.

I simply sat back and watch her sweet eyes glued to her project.

This is what her animals look like. She loved painting them black because she wanted them to camouflage in the forest.

She came up with all kinds of stories using these animals. We had so much fun!

Once she is older, we will repaint them and we will add more detail to them to possible make them look more realistic.

That is, of course, will be up to her.

If she feels that her art project is fine like it is, I will most definitely agree.
