Spring Flower Craft Activity for Kids

Spring and Summer are so fun to be outdoors. Not only is the weather nicer, but there is color everywhere!

From rainbows and fruit trees to colorful kites and beautiful flowers.

Well, being outside is fun, but on a rainy day or an extra hot afternoon, you can have some fun activities for kids at home to keep them entertained.

In this post, we will show you the flower craft activities for kids to make and get creative.

Spring Flower Craft for Kids

Spring art projects with kids are always so much fun!

This one uses some recycled items and some new colorful ones.

Kids will absolutely love this paper flower bouquets craft!

You will need:

• an empty dozen egg carton for each child
• popsicle sticks (we love the colorful ones!)
• gluestick
• scissors
• colorful paper
• markers
• Note: you can use tissue paper, but I prefer regular colored paper because it’s sturdier.

Spring Flower Craft Ideas

Let’s start with these easy Spring crafts for kids to create and enjoy!

We are making flower planters using an empty egg carton! It will turn out lovely!

Once you have your list of materials listed above, take the egg carton and turn it upside down.

Adults, please use one sharp blade from the scissors and poke a hole at the bottom center of each egg carton bowl.

Don’t make the hole too big.

The flower stems are the popsicle sticks, so the holes need to be only big enough to securely hold the popsicle sticks.

These Spring paper flower crafts for children can be as simple or as complex as you want them to be.

They can also be alike or different! First, we will decorate the egg carton.

Kids will decide if they want their flowers to be in a garden or in pots or both!

If they want the flowers in a garden, then they will use green paper to make grass and glue it to the front of the egg carton.

If they want pots, then they will pick out their colors and glue a pot in front of each egg carton bowl.

One of my kids picked the colors of the rainbow for the pots!

If they want both, they make the pots and glue them down and then the grass (shorter) and glue in front of the pots, covering only half of the pots, maybe less.

All three ways look awesome, so whatever they choose, it will be fun.

And now, onto the actual flower crafts for kids!

Give the kids a good variety of colored paper and walk them through a few ways to make flowers so they can make their own.

Let them get creative! After all, they are flower crafts by kids, right?

They can use several colored papers for one flower or they can use one color for each flower.

Each flower can be a different color or they can make their flowers in a color pattern.

The popsicle sticks are the stems.

If you use regular popsicle sticks, have them use markers to color them green.

If you use colored ones, let them pick all green or their favorite colors.

They can use green papers (dark, bright or light) to make leaves for the flowers.

Glue them onto the stems. Once they are done, they will place each flower into the holes poked with scissors onto the egg carton.

And there you have it! Didn’t they turn out amazing?

The best part is that if they make extra flowers, they can keep them inside the egg carton and switch them around every so often.

The egg carton can also be used as a gift “box” to gift to a loved one.
