Do you see online learning as a difficult or as a helpful alternative to homeschool learning?
Have you tried it with your kids yet? Do you know the advantages of tablets over textbooks?
As you well know, we live in a digital age (21st century) and there are countless benefits of digital learning with kids nowadays.
My children are, as many of yours probably are, too, drawn to the digital world and love to explore it in different ways.
My daughter (almost 8) loves to use technology in the sense of digital microscopes, light screens for Art designs and educational tablet apps.
My son (almost 10), enjoys using technology by typing his Literature papers on the laptop, video games and educational websites.
Come and take a look at what we think is the best homeschool curriculum for online learners! I think you will be pleased!
Benefits of Digital Learning for Students
If you have homeschooled for any amount of time, there are millions and millions of homeschooling programs out there.
From books to textbooks, to unschooling, to online websites and the list goes on.
Some of us like to stick to one program and others of us are eclectic, which means we pick a little bit of everything.
Over the years, I have learned to keep an open mind and to try things without dismissing anything.
My children are different in age, gender and learning style, so I have noticed that each has varying preferences.
The truth of the matter is that homeschool parents know that there are benefits of digital technology in education.
And speaking of benefits of technology, your home schooling might focus on educational technology while still implementing traditional textbooks.
So you might be looking for an online school. But for what grade levels? Should you wait until your kids get to high school or start sooner?
What about preschool and kindergarten? Maybe you are wondering if you can find the best Kindergarten homeschool curriculum online.
Let me tell you about an online homeschool curriculum that we have been trying out lately and what we think of it.
It is called Time4Learning.
It is an award-winning, comprehensive PreK-12 curriculum that allows parents to be in control of their child’s individual learning path.
It offers a seamless transition from workbooks to online curriculum with and easy back and forth.
Not only is it a great homeschool curriculum for Kindergarten, they have lesson plans for Preschool, Kindergarten, Elementary, Middle and High School.
It covers four main subjects that can be worked on at each child’s own pace. These subjects are Math, Language Arts, Science and Social Studies.
Time4Learning Online Homeschool Curriculum
Let me tell you why I am impressed with Time4Learning and why my children and I are excited about continuing our use of this online homeschool curriculum.
I mentioned above about the advantages of tablets over textbooks, but why not both?
Time4Learning is an all-encompassing curriculum that walks you and your child through each lesson, beginning to end.
It isn’t all online, though! It is fun to see how in Science, for example, my daughter is doing the online portion and then we print her lesson activities to complete.
All printables are black and white, so they save us money in color ink.
I also appreciated that the printed activities are important (not busy work) and great for saving in their homeschool portfolios. The automated grading and record-keeping help parents encourage independent learning, while at the same time, be aware of their child’s progress.
I love that my children’s records are safe and accurate and I am also in love with their scheduling feature!
As I was looking around the website, it was awesome to find that I can set the amount of time that my kids are supposed to spend on each subject!
I am also able to set time limits, daily schedules and even block off vacation days or sick days! It is so organized and complete!
Time4Learning also has a great incentive for kids when they finish their school work.
When they finish their work, you can set it up for them to visit the online playground for some old school games such as Pacman.
How Online Education is Better than Traditional Education in Today’s Society
When children are sent to public school, we have no idea what they are learning or how much they are learning.
I guess their standardized test scores should enlighten us, but, if they have the experience I had as a public school teacher, I was made to teach to the test.
That tells us nothing.
Absolutely nothing.
Online learning is better than traditional learning can be a great alternative for homeschooling parents for many reasons.
Not only did they want to keep their kids at home to be more in control of their learning, but also to teach them independence and problem-solving skills.
Out of all of the homeschooling websites out there, I like that Time4Learning helps with all this and so much more!
It is a complete homeschool curriculum for your kids, but it is also a wonderful way of staying organized and on top of your lessons!
What do we think of Time4Learning?
This is how we have incorporated Time4Learning in our homeschool day:
We start our day with lessons together: Bible, Public Speaking, Logic and Typing.
Then, we start Time4Learning. Each one of my kids has their own laptop, so they grab their headphones and start their work.
I am nearby to help with anything they might need. And I love to keep an eye on them and watch their happy reactions as they complete their lessons and quizzes!
I go through the printable parts of the Time4Learning lessons with the kids.
Then we have lunch and after, we do Art, Literature and Foreign Languages together.
Out of all of the homeschool curricula that we have used, we have tried several online ones.
And out of our favorite online homeschool curriculum list, this one is on the top.
My son says, “I love everything about Time4Learning! Can we do this forever?”
My daughter says, “My favorite subject is Social Studies and I feel that Math is easier for me because of how they explain it.”
They are trustworthy. Over 600,000 homeschooling families have used them over the course of 10 years.
Families use Time4Learning for homeschooling, for skill building, to reinforce after homeschool and for Summer studies.
It can also be used for gifted students, for accelerated learning, for learning difficulties, special needs, self-paced learning and for schedule flexibility.
You don’t have to worry about having to pay and commit for the full year! You can pay month by month, after you view the demos!
Now, I know what you’re going to ask next: Is this the cheapest homeschool curriculum and do you get what you pay for?
That is an excellent question!
Yes, Time4Learning is, indeed, an inexpensive homeschool curriculum online, especially if you consider everything that it includes.
But more than that, you get so much value that you will actually feel like you’re underpaying!
Still have questions? Time4Learning also has an online parent forum! Ask questions, ask for suggestions, extensions, advice or simply share successes!

Bonnie says
When I looked at Time4Learning I realized that I have no idea where to even start my daughter. Her ability levels are wildly different from subject to subject. In your honest opinion, what time for learning have tools to help me assess her needs? Secondly, even though she is behind grade level in most subjects, at almost 10 years old she is turned off by anything too babyish. What are your thoughts on this issue as a relates to Time4Learning, please? I appreciate your time. Thank you!
