Do you like movies with a good message? Have you enjoyed a good movie that involves the past and the present? Let me go a bit further: Are you patriotic and love the United States and what our military does for us to preserve our freedom? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then this is the movie for you.
I was asked to review the Movie Faith of Our Fathers (2015 Edition). It is made by FishFlix.com. Faith of Our Fathers is an emotional movie about two men that meet because their fathers served together during the Vietnam War. They go through adventures together and they discover more and more about who their fathers were and how much they were loved by their fathers.
This movie is being released on October 13, 2015. It is rated PG (Parental Guidance) and is 95 minutes long. Faith of Our Fathers is set in 1997 with flashbacks to the past (during the Vietnam War). I liked that because my favorite genre in movies and in books is Historical Fiction.
My husband and I watched Faith of Our Fathers together one evening, shortly after the DVD arrived in the mail. We decided to make it a “special date at home” with tea and banana bread after our littles went to bed. I knew we would both be very interested in this movie from the trailer and the title.
See, we love our country and we support and appreciate our military. It is such a great sacrifice that all soldiers and soldier families make every time a loved one deploys or when our country is at war. In my view, it must be one of the toughest jobs in the world and we are eternally grateful for that sacrifice.
Faith of Our Fathers was interesting, humorous and filled with war action, but not bloody or violent. I appreciated watching a war/action movie without strong language in it. There were many sad, touching parts like when they would learn about what their fathers had to go through during the Vietnam War.
There were also several very funny moments. It was a great move to get Si Robertson (from Duck Dynasty) to have a part in the movie. He is hilarious. My husband and I had a good laugh with the things he had to say. Stephen Baldwin was a great actor in this movie and a good addition to the cast.
All in all, I say that this movie had a good message and that it was clean in language and humor. I think it was rated PG because of the war being intertwined throughout the movie and because, in general, it just isn’t a movie that children would be interested in. I recommend Faith of Our Fathers (2015 Edition).
