Maria Montessori, the attentive observer of children and wonderful creator of The Montessori Method, focused much of her time on reflection and introspection.

If we don’t take time to reflect and assess what has worked and what needs to improve in the Montessori environment an within ourselves, then we won’t be able to serve our children in the best way possible.

In this post, I want to share with you an easy way to do weekly reflections with a complement to your Montessori curriculum (a PDF free download).

As you work on your week in your Montessori environment, implementing your Montessori Curriculum of choice, I wanted to give you an important addition to it in the form of a Montessori curriculum PDF.

It is a sheet for you to take time to reflect on each week, see what worked, determine what needs to change and so on. 

I made it because I felt that I needed something like this, but couldn’t find anything like what I was looking for.

What I like about this one is that you can start on Mondays by filling out the first part of the form.

It will set you up for success because it will give you a focus for the week.

I put enough lines for you to have a different focus each day, if that is what you want.

If not, you can have the same, very important focus or “daily awareness” for the entire week.

 

As you go through your Montessori lesson plans in your Montessori classroom throughout the week, take notes on your reflections sheet, but be sure to leave enough room for Friday.

That is going to be your biggest day for reflections because you can make the changes you need and reset your thinking to start afresh on Monday.

It’s more important than you know to really think about the progress that you are making, not only the children’s progress.

Not only that, but it will help you stay positive and see changes as improvements

Rather than focusing on failures, this sheet will help you see things that didn’t work as opportunities to make things better.
