Here are two of my children’s favorite hands-on learning games. They have been for years now. In fact, on of them is one of our little neighbor’s favorite game, too, and he comes to our home asking specifically to play it. Let me tell you why they are awesome and why they are educational. Take a looks at these awesome hands-on learning games.
The Language & Order FlipOver Game
These games teach logic, order, language arts, strategy, matching, fine and gross motor skills, following instructions, taking turns and the list goes on and on. This is so fun to watch them play them! The first game is the FlipOver
game by ThinkFun
!
It is for ages 4 and up and it can be played by several players. Children will learn to match words (animal names) to complete the picture. They deal the cards amongst all the players and then they take turns flipping the lever after completing the picture. Click on the image below to see all of the details about it.
I appreciate how this game makes learning fun and is engaging. My children and our little neighbor play it so well and they can’t get enough of it. They match the words and find the two halves of the animal pictures. They have learned to take turns so well and they love this game so much that they keep good track of all the cards (pieces). The game comes with a secret compartment to keep the cards from getting lost.
The Logic & Order Snap Circuits Game
This, guys…THIS is the game of games! We LOVE Snap Circuits
! The box is compact, but it is loaded with so much stuff that you can actually build over 100 projects from lighting a lightbulb to making a siren sound or even make a helicopter blade fly up in the air!
It is for ages 8-100, but honestly, I have let my son work on it since he was 4 years old and, after a session of my husband sitting with him to do a couple of projects, he simply took off making all the projects himself! It has been amazing to watch him make the different activities and making them work.
The instructions are simple to follow, both written and visual. My son knows how to read, but children can also use the pictures to make sure they are following instructions. We have used it a lot since we got Snap Circuits
for him for his 4th birthday. And we are so excited to be giving him the Green Energy Snap Circuits
set for Christmas this year!
We took this amazing Snap Circuits
game of logic, strategy, order and science a step further: we used it on a light table
! This was beyond amazing. My son was showing his sister how to do some of the projects, but on the light table. Since the board is clear, it was cool how it looked as he snapped the pieces onto it. Don’t you just love it?!
