Montessori at Home Curriculum Free Sensorial Lesson

Montessori Sensorial materials are the best because they cover so many different aspects of children’s development. We really enjoy them. If you want to get a helpful list of the 9 Sensorial areas that Montessori covers, go here.

There are several Montessori Sensorial activities that you can do with this printable set. First, I used just the one set of 3-part cards with the nomenclature attached to teach my children the names of the shapes with the name attached. It just makes more sense because they can make a stronger name-to-image connection.

I placed them in this order (from most common/known) to the ones that are used the least. The circle, square and triangle at the most common shapes to learn in English, so it would be wise to teach those in Spanish first as well.

Then we moved on to the variations of these shapes, including the rectangle, rhombus (diamond) and oval. The third row included the heart, the star and crescent (half moon). Lastly, we have the 3D shapes (cube, cone and sphere.

These free Montessori three part cards are so helpful to bring in the vocabulary and the image together! Once my children learned the shapes in Spanish, I then introduced the other set of 3-part cards; the ones with the image and the nomenclature detached from each other. They completed that set to make an even stronger connection to the words with the shapes in mind.
