Norwex Products: Natural Cleaning for a Toxin-Free Home

Norwex is a wonderful company that is very adamant about removing all toxic chemicals out of homes by offering products that naturally prevent the growth of bacteria on surfaces.

So, using Norwex products, all you need is water to activate their natural cleaning properties.

I first heard of this company a few months back when a friend invited me to a couple of her online parties.

In the first one, I was way too swamped and wasn’t really able to participate or pay much attention to the products.

But when she invited me to the second party, I started looking into this company and was impressed with what I found.

So I am here to share this information with you AND to invite you to a party I have going on!

I ordered a few items, one of which is the lovely towel set.

It comes with 3 and I LOVE them!

Lately, we were having problems with stinky towels.

It was probably time to switch them out or “strip” them using harsh chemicals.

I decided to buy this set. Wow.

I am so impressed with these towels.

I love that they are a great size.

The set has one in each size, so I use the largest one for body, the second largest for my hair and the smallest for my pillow (so it doesn’t get wet when I go to bed with wet hair). 

I definitely want a set for everyone in the family.

I am in awe at how thin they are and how well they dry.

I love how fast they dry and at how they just don’t stink!

How is this possible?

How Norwex stands out

According to Norwex,

Our antibacterial microfiber is one of the most innovative products in the industry! Norwex has developed a unique technology that combines an antibacterial silver-based agent with our microfiber. The antibacterial agent is actually embedded inside the tiny microfiber. The agent is solely designed to inhibit bacterial odor, mold, and/or mildew growth within the cloth.

Why is the antibacterial agent in Norwex Microfiber an important feature? The silver antibacterial fiber has self purification properties. The agent is solely designed to inhibit bacterial odor, mold, and/or mildew growth within the cloth.

I have watched dozens of videos on youtube and vimeo where ladies use the little testing sticks below to prove how Norwex products really do stop the growth of bacteria.

In one of them, the lady rubbed raw chicken on the counter and then tested it with the stick.

It would turn purple (large presence of protein was detected). 

PAUSE: Why do we care about testing for the presence of protein?

Well, it’s because you need protein for bacteria to grow.

If you remove the protein, you are basically removing all chances for bacteria to multiply on your surfaces. 

RESUME: Then she cleaned the counter with Norwex’s EviroCloth and just water (to activate the silver in the cloth) and tested the countertop again with a new stick.

It was green. That means that no protein presence was detected.

Lesson: Norwex cloths are so wonderful for several reasons.

One of them is the thread count.

In order for a thread to be considered microfiber, it has to be 1/6th of a human hair.

Norwex microfiber cloths are 1/200th of a human hair, so much thinner.

My consultant put it this way: would you rather have 6 fingers to clean your kitchen or 200?

Well, with 200 you would pick up a lot more, right?

It’s the same concept with Norwex cloths.

The knitting is so tight, that it literally picks everything up!

To top it off, Norwex cloths pick everything up, including all protein, so there is no bacterial growth.

The silver embedded into the microfiber stops bacterial growth on the cloth, so they self-sanitize after a few hours!

I was grossed out to hear that spraying anything on our surfaces (floors, counters, etc) leave a residue of the cleaners used (natural or not).

And when they kill bacteria, the rags we use don’t remove them all, so we are swishing around all sorts of dead bacterial and germs and viruses.

Not good at all! We need a good-quality, self-sanitizing microfiber like Norwex EnviroCloths to really remove and abstract all protein and everything else in its path.

As it turns out, Norwex has been certified by different agencies to ensure that they offer the highest quality of natural products.

#1 Microfiber Enviro-Cloth:

I explained above how it cleans thoroughly with just water (which activates the silver in the cloth) to stop the growth of bacteria (call it “bacterial birth control,” if you will).

There is no need for toxic chemicals at all! And the Scrubby Corner Cloth (similar to the EnviroCloth) has a scrubby corner to help with stubborn stains.

#2 Window Cloth:

All you need is water and this cloth to get streak-free windows, mirrors and all types of glass.

I am so excited to use it in our homeschool room and in our kitchen.

I will definitely use it in our car.

#3 Adult Silver Care Toothbrushes and Child Silver Care Toothbrushes:

According to the Norwex catalog,

“On contact with water, the silver on the unique base release active ions that eliminate up to 99.9% of the bacteria commonly found on toothbrushes–ones that cause plaque, cavities and gingivitis.”

It self sanitizes because of the silver and is ready to go as soon as it’s dry.

It comes with a replacement head.

#4 Bath Towels:

Like I said above, I already have one set of 3 towels for me (I wanted it to be one of my Christmas gifts last year), but I now want one set for each member of our family.

They are soft and velvety! They dry fast and even have the little hooks to hang them from!

They are also embedded with silver, so they self-sanitize as they dry! No more stinky towels! Yes!

#5 Dish Cloth:

I m so excited about trying this rag, too!

I am ready for cloths that don’t stink right away and do a good job cleaning.

I am mainly thinking that wishlist items #5 and #6 are for my children.

They love doing Practical Life chores around the house and these two would be perfect for them to do just that. 😉

This cloth is almost like a mesh cloth, but it scrubs and cleans very well.

The best part is that it doesn’t stink and since it is so thin, you can throw it in the dishwasher cycle and it is dry in no time.

#6 Dusting Mitt for children:

I am sooooooooo excited that Norwex made a children’s line of products!

They have a child-sized mop, a rag, a dusting mitt and other things. How wonderful!

I am definitely wanting to get this mitt for my children because they love helping me around the house.

Having a microfiber mitt (which can be used wet or dry) is great for small hands to control better.

#7 Kitchen Cloths:

These are basically your all-purpose cloths to have around, not just in the kitchen.

They clean all surfaces including wood, granite, marble, laminate, glass, stainless steel, ceramic, chrome, just to name a few.

No lint. Not streaks. No mess. They are super absorbent, too!

Their knit is a bit looser than the EnviroCloth, so it picks everything up, but it is also easier to rinse the stuff off.

Plus, I love their color variety!

#8 Norwex Mop System:

Wow! Where do I even start on this one?!

They offer so many different covers to use for different things and they all do a wonderful job.

I am especially interested in the one that cleans grout because our home’s grout isn’t sealed.

They clean all surfaces, though, not just tile. I can’t wait to get clean and bacteria-free floors!

Note: All Norwex products are super effective dry, too.

The microfiber is amazing both wet and dry, but in order for the silver embedded in them to be activated and start the self-sanitizing action, they must come in contact with water.

So, for example, you want to use your dusting mitt on your wood and remove all kinds of particles, dust bunnies, etc.

Then, when you are done, you simply wet the mitt to rinse it out and as it dries, it will self-sanitize.

How awesome is that?!
