One of the most challenging issues for homeschooling families is how to keep their house clean. The kids constantly being around prevents the parents to find balance between school and housework. Usually the second one is far running behind. Here are some ways that can help you keep a good order at home and ways to keep a clean home while homeschooling.
Ways to Keep a Clean Home while Homeschooling
1. Add a new subject while homeschooling
Add a shorter time to the teaching process and speak with children about that how important it is to help mum and dad with the housework. Give them examples, tell them stories on the cleaning topic. It’s enough only to make children understand the idea. After all, it’s not their obligation to clean, but it’s parents obligation to teach them to be clean.
2. Stimulate your children to clean up
Instead of making chore charts and expect everyone to do their duties, involve your children in the process of cleaning in a pleasant way. Let them help you. Even if it is not much. Don’t have high expectations at first. Involving them in the home duties is enough.
Your children will follow your example, so show them that cleanness is important to you. Always stimulate them to bring their dishes to the sink when they finish with lunch, put their books in the cupboard or gather their toys. Overtime, they will be doing these things daily. When you are cleaning the house give them small duties, just to wipe the table or sweep the leaves in the garden. Don’t expect efficiency. Just spend time together.
3. Declutter your home from unnecessary stuff
Very often we keep at home things we are never going to use. Be honest and get rid of everything that doesn’t serve you any purpose. Bring the old clothes to the local orphanage, present the furniture in the garage to somebody in need and create more place for your family. Then It will be easy to put in order everything that you actually use.

4. 5-minute pick-up
When children finish a subject, make a 5 minute pick-up. Let them clean as much as they can for 5 minutes. Reward with a privilege, praise or other treat after the 5 minutes are up. After that, go to the next subject. Five minutes of cleaning is not a lot but it will make a difference and your children will do it with pleasure.
5. Clean as you go
You will win a lot if you make small cleaning on the moment are saying from rug cleaning hammersmith. If you notice that the garbage bin is full just before you leave for work, throw it away. There may be 2 dishes in the sink, wash them fast. The kids just ate a snack, throw it away or let them do it. When you have dirty clothes, sort them fast and prepare them for washing. These small actions decrease the amount of the regular cleaning. Everything counts, so if you can do something on the moment, don’t hesitate.
6. Organize your family
Once everything has its own place it will not be so difficult to put it there instead of making a mess by leaving things everywhere. Make a tour in the house and show everyone what is staying where, explain to your children that not only they but everyone needs to do that for a better way of living. Put also a small funny reminders on the walls or desks.
These tips may prove to be very helpful to parents that chose home education for their children. There is always a way to put everything in order. However, sometimes it’s not so easy to follow a plan. In such moments, the best one can do is to accept the things as they are and later follow the plan again with fresh energy.
