This craft is a great way to get started on your Christmas homeschool printable activities! It is a lot of fun and you can take as little or as long as you want to.

Christmas Tree Hat Craft Materials

This craft is a spinoff of our color version of the Christmas hat (find it here).

This one requires more steps, so allocate more time for this one. You can still keep it as simple or make it as fancy as you want.

Regardless, this is a great set of printable for free arts and crafts for kids to make this Christmas!

• Crayons, markers or colored pencils
• Scissors
• Stapler
• Tacky glue

Christmas Tree Hat Craft Instructions

Download and print these free Christmas printables for kids in black and white and on cardstock.

I recommend cardstock because it is sturdier and more durable. Cut the trees and the decorations out.

The gifts are cut in three rows (like shown in the picture above).

Have your child color the Christmas trees, the decorations and the presents any way they prefer.

You can go simple with crayons, markers or colored pencils. Or you can go fancier and use glitter glue, dot markers and more!

Your can even use small pompoms or tiny single bells for ornaments and shiny pipe cleaners as garlands.

Whatever you choose to color and decorate the trees with, be sure that they are completely dry before moving to the hat setup steps.

If you feel that the trees are too heavy with the decorations and that they won’t stand up straight on the hat, I recommend taping a straw on the back of each Christmas tree to make it sturdier.

As all arts & crafts for kids, this requires glue. Have your child glue the decorations on the two trees.

In the meantime, you can fold the extra piece of paper in half (the narrow way) and then fold each half to make 2 thin strips.

Measure your child’s head and staple the 2 strips to make a circle. Then staple the 3 strips of the gifts all around that circle.

Once your child is done gluing the decoration and the decorations are dry, fit each tree between the strip and the gifts strip exactly opposite of each other and staple or glue them on.

At the top, staple or glue the 2 trees at the stars.

Doesn’t it look lovely?! My daughter was shy to model it, but she absolutely loved taking it to her Christmas party.

Everyone was excited to see it and it is actually a fun and quick craft to make with a whole group of kids, so we might do that soon!
