We love studying famous modern artists’ paintings in our homeschool.
We’ve also studied a timeline for modern artists that were contemporaries.
In this post, we will share with you a great post that is also part of our “Famous Artist Lessons for Kids” series.
It is none other than the famous Georgia O’Keeffe.
We have some fun 3-part cards to go more in-depth on these studies.

It is full of wonderful hands-on ideas for you to use at home.
Montessori at Home O’Keeffe: Famous Artist Lessons for Kids – Setup
Georgia O’Keeffe is one of the most famous modern artists. She was very talented.
She focused on painting flowers and natural scenes from her native New Mexico.
She painted canyons and birds. She also painted structures like the native style of homes around her.
Here is one of the best art lessons for kids! First, print the 3-part cards set in color TWICE and on cardstock.
Cut the first set with the artwork names attached. Cut the second set with the picture and the artwork name apart.

O’Keeffe: Famous Artist Lessons for Kids
I really love her work, out of all the popular modern artists!
My daughter especially likes her work because of all the flowers and pretty scenery.
First, my daughter and I read through all the card painting titles.
The cards with the painting names attached is the control of error.
That is how the child will know whether their card matching is correct or not.
The cards (control of error) are set up, right? Well, she then started matching the image cards.
Lastly, she matched the names cards and placed them below the image cards. Isn’t it a beautiful display? See below.
These cards are great for learning the names of the artwork, but also to begin recognizing an artist’s technique and art designs.
