My children have been memorizing verses from the Bible since they were born.

Now that we homeschool, we make it a formal part of our schooling as well.

We are also learning foreign languages.

I like to make the Bible and foreign languages fun for them, so I think of great ways to make it more applicable to their lives.

Here, I have made a “The Lord’s Prayer” poster free printable for kids to color.

Actually, The Lord’s Prayer printable includes four different pages of the prayer in Spanish.

They have a great time coloring them in different color patterns (maybe one for each season?).

But they can also use this free printable Our Father prayer to decorate their rooms or to keep in their morning binders to repeat every morning, along with the pledge to the flag.

The Lord’s Prayer Printable

This is a great printable to make it a Lord’s Prayer craft! The sky is the limit here.

It all depends on your kids’ artistic ability, the amount of time that you have for this activity and the amount of materials you have.

You can primp it up with glitter and glue, use markers, crayons, pastels or watercolor pencils.

Maybe even put them in a clear sheet protector to let them decorate these pages with dry erase markers over and over!

I like to have my kids trace over the words with their pencil or with a marker as they read them in Spanish.

This helps their fine motor skills as well as focus on correct pronunciation of the words.

This particular set of 4 printable Lord’s prayer pages are all in Spanish.

They are based on the scriptures in the Bible where Jesus taught His disciples to pray (Matthews 6:9-13).

Here are The Lord’s Prayer words printable explained in English.

I use them side by side so my kids know what the words mean in Spanish.

There are many versions of the Lord’s Prayer, but here’s one that I’ve memorized):

Our Father which art in Heaven hallowed be Your name.

Thy Kingdom come, Your will be done

on earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread

and forgive us our trespasses,

as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.

For Thine is the Kingdom and the Power and the Glory forever.

Amen

The free printable Lord’s Prayer is a wonderful way to learn about forgiveness of sin, loving one another and how important it is to be grateful for what God gives us.

As much as I like to focus on the eternal benefits of learning the prayer with this Lord’s prayer printable, I also have to mention the benefits of memorizing things in other languages.

Spanish is my first language, so I want to teach my kids this beautiful language in a way that isn’t hard or overwhelming.
