Do your kids know the pledge to the American flag words by heart? If so, this is the perfect activity for them to review them. And if not, this is the perfect activity for them to learn them.

American Flag Pledge of Allegiance Books

Fine Motor Skills Cutting Strips Activity
Step 1: Print this printable in color on either regular paper or cardstock TWICE.
Step 2: This is optional, but it certainly makes it more durable. Laminate!
Step 3: Cut around the border of both pages, but cut one of them along the lines as strips. Keep the second one intact.
Step 4: Set up the activity on the table or on a mat.
American Flag Pledge of Allegiance
For an older child that already knows the pledge of allegiance to the American flag, simply scramble the strips, have your child read the pledge sheet (the one that was left uncut) and then have your child put the strips in order by heart.
For a younger child (see below), you set up the complete pledge sheet on the left, the scrambled strips next to it and the child, consulting the control of error on the left, places the pledge of allegiance in the correct order to the right.
My daughter did so well with this activity! Even though she knows the pledge by heart, she benefitted so much from actually seeing the words up close. She’s been very curious about words lately (she’s 5 years old) and this activity was awesome!
