My children and I have been learning about the human body and they have been extra interested, so I made some fun interactive human body systems activities for them! In this post, we will be talking about the Human Body Systems printable 3-part cards that we used as an enrichment activity after our lesson.
The Human Body System Unit
This 3-part cards activity includes 7 of the major human body systems including: the Nervous System, the Respiratory System, the Digestive System, the Circulatory System, the Muscular System, the Skeletal System and the Endocrine System.
It also includes the parts of the heart and the names of blood cells, which can be used in this lesson or be left for a later lesson where you go into the Circulatory System more in-depth. This lesson on human body systems for kids is great to either introduce this vocabulary or as a review (or both).
You can use these if you are doing Montessori at home. I tried to acquire real images of the human body, as the Montessori Method recommends (and I would prefer), but it was just impossible at this moment. Nonetheless, this free Montessori curriculum addition is here for you to use, if you so choose.
If you know how to introduce and present 3-part cards to children, you can see how we used ours in these photos. But if you need a refresher or don’t know how to use 3-part cards, please visit THIS POST.
Human Anatomy Body Systems
All of the human body system for kids 3-part cards are labeled for the pertinent parts that are important to learn. But as of now, all we are focusing on are the actual names of the systems. If you want to study further, then feel free to go into the labeling of each of the system parts.
You can also make these cards a series of human body systems games. For the 3-part cards, you need to print these cards twice. If you keep the nomenclature parts attached to the images on both copies, they can be used as a Memory Game.
If you separate the system names from the images, you can ask children to name the system just by looking at the images. They can also be used as tracing or sketching images for each of the human body systems.
