Lavender Essential Oil Uses & Ideas
For Skin
- For cuts and scrapes, apply lavender essential oil to sanitize and it might help stop the bleeding.
- Insect bites and stings: apply one drop of lavender essential oil directly on the bite or sting (can be applied with or without a carrier oil). This can help with the swelling, the itch and the discomfort.
Personal testimonial about pure lavender oil uses:
The other day, my son got stung by a bee and the stinger was too deep for me to get out.
I applied one drop of Thieves essential oil (click here to learn more about Thieves essential oil) and I literally watched the stinger get pushed out by the oil right in front of my eyes.
Incredible! Lavender helped soothe the area where he got stung.
- For dry or chapped skin, rashes, sunburns, cold sores and similar skin issues, put about 2 oz of coconut oil (or any carrier oil like organic olive oil or avocado oil) and add 5-10 drops of lavender essential oil in. Mix well and apply on areas affected. Apply as often as needed.
- For sunburns, if it is too painful to rub coconut oil and lavender, you can also spray it on. Fill up a glass spray bottle with purified water and add 5-10 drops of lavender essential oil. Shake well and spray over burned skin.
- For burns, apply lavender essential oil with or without a carrier oil. Coconut oil may also help soothe the burned skin, so I would recommend using it with the carrier oil.
- For scars, apply lavender essential oil (with a carrier oil such as coconut oil) on the affected areas.
- For dry and flaky scalp, mix in 1 oz of coconut oil with about 5 drops of lavender essential oil. Apply all over scalp and massage. Let it sit for a few minutes. Rinse well and wash with shampoo or neutral soap until it is all out.
