Map Activities for Kids: France, England, Ireland {Printables}
Alright! Here is France!
For this lesson, we used our flags of the world book, our Montessori flags and map activity, our free printable cards and the amazing Little Passports World Edition package.
Quick note: World Edition is for ages 6-10.
You can subscribe once where you will get a fun suitcase, a map and some other goodies or you can subscribe for longer than that like six or 12 months.
With Little Passports World Edition, we cover a different country.
Countries like Brazil, Japan, France, Egypt, Australia, Mexico, South Africa and India.
Also, there’s England, China, Argentina, Russia, Israel, Thailand, Ireland, Kenya, Spain, Antarctica, Canada, Italy, Iceland and many, many more!
Plus, there are online games for each country with a special code that comes in each package.
For our studies on France, we used our world landmarks and around the world mini replicas, our free landmarks printables, the free printables in this post and our fun Little Passports World Edition package!
I showed my children pictures of when I went to Paris (back in 1999) and read information about Napoleon, La Bastille and important people and events from France.
Most importantly, we found Europe on the world map then we found France.
We used the free printable cards about France and let my daughter (four years old) color the map of France with a dry erase marker.
And I let my son (six years old) use a pushpin to mark where Paris is on the colored map card.
Oh!
We also practiced some French words that I have taught my children.
Next on the map in our post “Map Activities for Kids: France, England, Ireland” comes England (no pun intended)!
We did this lesson on a different day to go through the same list of activities, but focusing on England instead of France.
We found England on the world map and found the capital.
We practiced the English accent a bit (I’m really bad at it), particularly because my son’s penpal is from England.
We even found the Big Ben and Stonehenge mini replicas!
We colored the map on the laminated card (free in this post) and found the English flag in our flag book.
Our Little Passports World Edition on England was fantastic!
It came with a beautiful Big Ben that we built!
Look at it! It is so amazing and we had a blast!
Finally, we “visited” Ireland!
After we read about Ireland, found it on the map and found the capital, we discussed about St. Patrick.
We also colored the map card with dry erase markers and even practiced the Irish accent a bit.
Then, we headed over to our Little Passports World Edition Ireland pack!
We used the coloring pages that came with the pack. They were so much fun!
The coloring book has all kinds of Irish pictures and paints included.
The paints are activated with water. We used q-tips for paintbrushes.
This pack was so fun!
