Montessori at Home Fall Books for Kids
These are some fantastic books to read with the kids or, if they read well, they can read to each other!
Cursive Handwriting Homeschool Printables Pages
This activity is great for introducing Fall words for kids, although we do have a matching (and equally fantastic) set of 3-part cards that are also great to introduce Fall words for kids. Find them HERE!
They will also use these fun Fall printables for kids to review their Fall words, practice their cursive handwriting and even put together these in a wonderful booklet!
I invited my 5-year old daughter do this activity in manuscript (see below).
She basically traced the Fall words and then wrote them on her own. I told her she could take her time and do one column per day, but she loved this activity!
She completed it all in one sitting! I think that she just couldn’t wait to see the finished product. My son did the same but in cursive!
Learn Cursive with Fall Handwriting Printables
Once she was done tracing and copying the words, she cut the strips into two. This took some time, but it was worth the fine motor skills practice.
She is getting so good at cutting straight lines! Once all the strips were cut, I stacked them up, with the cover page on top and stapled all of them together!
It turned out to be a super awesome Fall booklet! Kids will get the cursive version of this printable. They will learn to write legibly in cursive while celebrating the beautiful season that is Fall.
Cursive is the Arts and Reading portion of the Language Arts subject because it is just so beautiful! It also focuses on eye-hand coordination, dexterity and fine motor skills.
On these pages (or strips to make into a booklet, if you so choose), kids will be writing leaving appropriate spaces between the cursive letters to make their cursive writing lovely.
More Fall Hands-on Resources
Yes! These guys below can be educational and fun at the same time! We like using hands-on activities to solidify fine motor skills practice because they help with handwriting.
We use some of these for eye-hand coordination, for dexterity, for accuracy and for using the pincer grip.
