As summer is here, a cool parent like you and so many out there, is probably thinking of engaging in lots of fun activities with your kids this summer, right? Summer, being the most interesting time of the year to the kids, they are more likely to wait for all the year long for summer to arrive.
So, it becomes your duty to engage them in some cool summer activities that they can relish until the next summer. If you are out of ideas and unable to figure out what’s new to do this summer, check out the following out of the box Kids Summer Activities and make a shortlist for your little one. Let’s get started!
1. Playground Slide Game
The playground slide game is a very common game across the world. Every child out there loves to play this game. Generally, it is played in schools, outdoor playgrounds, parks, and backyards. The slide is of different shapes, e.g. tubular, flat or half cylindrical and the surface is very much smooth to prevent any accident. I have my kid’s own slide game at the backyard of my house and I let them play out there during holidays and summer as well.
Hiking is a great fun and can also be a good exercise as well. You can take your kids outside to take a hike in nearby spots. Hiking allows kids to explore the scenic beauty of nature and makes them energetic at the same time. You can get them familiar with the unknown trees, birds, and flowers. So, your little one will get a chance to learn about new things as well. What would be of more fun than this to go and explore the world with your kids this summer?
Most of the kids love biking. It is of great fun and gives freedom to the kids. Taking your kids to the nearby parks and make a ride together can be a decent idea for this summer. And, like the rest of the fun activities for the kids, biking will make your dad-kid bonding stronger, and at the same time, you two can share views with great joy, for sure.
4. Blueberry Picking
Summer is the time when you can pick blueberry. It is the ultimate joy of childhood. You should take your kids to a blueberry farm where they will lose themselves in the world of blueberries. Let them pick as many blueberries as they can. I usually make jam, jelly, pickles with the picked blueberries with my kids and they just love it.
5. Outdoor Party Games
You may get confused about what else to do during this summer to get your kids involved in. Well, an outdoor party game can a good choice though. Plan some games like icebreakers and play along with the kids. It’s a great fun to play with kids and get them to run around and burn energy, isn’t it?
One of the most classic family leisure times is fishing. Fishing is very kid-friendly and can be regarded as a great family summer activity if your partner is okay with it. Just spend a few bucks to buy the necessities for fishing and rush to the nearby fishing spot with your family and enjoy the limitless bliss.
Gardening is a familiar family fun time. If you have a garden in the backyard, you can let your kids visit there. As a guide, your duty is to make them interested in gardening. Once they are in, they are more likely to help you in planting, watering the plants, picking fresh organic vegetables, and other garden jobs on their own. Altogether, gardening can be a great source of fun and lifelong experience for your kids.
Badminton is such a game that can be played with family and friends. Children can participate too. It is also a great form of exercise as well. Spending 1 or 2 hours in playing badminton removes monotony and gives your kids enthusiasm. In this holiday, spend some time playing badminton along with your kids and teach them the fitness things.
Canoeing is another fun game. You don’t need to be a pro to take your kids for canoeing. You can go to the nearest pond or a calm river with your children and they can explore the shape, color, and beauty of nature.
10. Building a Sandcastle
Probably this is the most waited outdoor fun games for the kids. Building a sandcastle at the seashore is really fun. Take your kids to the seashore with some household items required for digging sand, building blocks, etc. and allow them to build their own castle. The castle doesn’t need to be perfect but you kids will get tons of joy for sure.
