- Egg Carton Sailboat
There’s something about sailboats that appeals to children of all ages.
While buying a fancy commercially manufactured toy from the toy store can be quite expensive, it’s easy to make one right in your home.
All you will need is an old egg carton.
Add a mast with an old pencil or any stick and a sail and be as creative as you like.
You can have your kid paint it in his favorite colors.
- Popsicle Airplane
Because it’s summer, your fridge will no doubt be full of ice-cream.
Instead of throwing the sticks away when you’re done, use them as material for a homemade fighter jet.
All you will need is some glue and your imagination.
Make sure to supervise your child when he uses the glue.
These airplanes can be as simple or as complex as you like, it all depends on you and your kids.
- Ice Cube Paintings
If you’ve got younger kids, help kick start their creative careers with their paintings.
Take some of your children’s favorite colors, add water to them and pour them into the water and pour into old ice cube trays.
Once they freeze, head out to the yard lay down a white cloth as a canvas and hand your kid an ice cube.
Watch as they create their beautiful summer masterpiece as the ice melts.
- Rock Smiling Faces
Kids love picking things up off the floor.
If youโre out on a hike, and your child picks up a few rocks, don’t ask him to throw it away.
Take them home and have them paint a few smiley faces on them.
They will act as a memento for a fond family memory.
- Lady Bug Hats
Hats are an essential part of your child’s summer protective gear.
So, why not buy the kids a hat that looks great? You can paint on a pair of eyes and add spots on the hat.
You donโt have to limit your design to a lady bug hat. Let your child determine what animals you can create.

- Flower Scrapbook
The next time you walk or hike makes sure to get some of the prettiest flowers to make a scrapbook.
It’ll teach your kids about flowers and look great. The best part; itโs so simple; your kids don’t need to be supervised.
- Personalized T- Shirts
Your kids will feel very grown up and creative as you tell them that they can design their t-shirts.
All you will need is some sandpaper, a few crayons and white t-shirts. Have them draw on what they like.
Once they’re done. Put the sandpaper with the design facing down, onto the t-shirt.
Iron over the sandpaper until the design is imprinted onto the plain t- shirt. Your kids are now little fashion designers.
