Montessori Summer Words 3 Part Cards
There are many ideas for Summer activities out there, but for Montessori, we like to stick with the regular activities and adapt them to different seasons, holidays and topics. These Montessori free printables are a set of 18 words used in Summer. They are perfect for children to learn how to spell words that are used regularly during the Summer season.
Some of the words included in these Montessori 3-part cards are: ocean, sandals, sunscreen, flowers, seashells, towel and more! If you know how to set up the 3-part cards, then the images below will look familiar. If you don’t know how to use 3-part cards, then please visit THIS POST. It explains to you, step by step, how to use them in the best way and for maximum learning.
Once you know how to set up the 3-part cards, then lets continue with these ideas for Summer activities with kids using these lovely Montessori materials – free! Since I have two children and wanted to include them both in this particular activity, I gave my youngest the matching pictures for the control of error 3-part cards. My son got the nomenclature cards.
Both of them worked together to match both the Summer word picture cards and the nomenclature cards. After they were all done, we read each word together and even spelled them out. We each picked our favorite words/pictures and talked about our Summer plans. We had a wonderful time with this activity, but it isn’t over!
Fun Summer Activities for Kids
There are some Montessori materials for toddlers to learn with and these cards are perfect for them, too! Include your littlest ones in these Summer activities because toddlers will definitely enjoy them, especially this last one that I will show you. First, we collected back the image cards and the nomenclature cards and set them aside.
Then, I handed the kids 2 small cups each. I asked my son to collect sand in one cup and seashells in the other. I asked my daughter to collect some grass in one cup and some bougainville flowers in the other cup. In the meantime, I filled one small cup with water and added 1 drop of food coloring to make it blue, like the ocean.
I also collected a towel, a swimsuit, sunscreen and a pair of sunglasses. My daughter collected the small palm tree and orchid mini replicas. Once all of the items were collected, it was so much fun matching them up with the correct images and removed the images that didn’t have matching objects. It was lovely!
