Cinnamon Protein Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars
This recipe has it all! It has sweetness, crunch, smoothness and more! The best part is that it is so delicious and your kids will love the chocolatey taste from the grain-sweetened dark chocolate chips. It is so good and so healthy! Don’t want chia seeds? No problem! Substitute for flaxseed (whole or ground)!
Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars Recipe Ingredients:
Bob’s Red Mill Gluten Free Old Fashioned RolledSunSpire Grain-Sweetened Dark Chocolate Chips, 10 Ounce BagIsopure Zero Carb Protein Powder, 100% Whey ProteinPremium Quality Organic Ceylon Cinnamon Powder (1lb) by
- 2 cups gluten free oats – roasted in the oven without oil for 10 minutes
- 1 cup natural peanut butter
- 1/2 cup honey or mashed banana
- 1/2 cup unsweetened apple sauce
- 2 tablespoons grain sweetened chocolate chips
- 1 cup whey protein powder (unflavored or vanilla)
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons chia seeds or flaxseeds or a mix of both (As you can see, I overdo it on the chia seeds because we love them!)
Recipe of Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
- You can do this the night before: Roast the oats in the oven for 10 minutes.
- Remove from oven and cool completely. This is a very important step because if they’re not completely cooled, the chocolate chips will melt in the mix.
- Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
- Spread out the batter on a cookie sheet or baking stone.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the bars are a nice golden brown color.
- Cut and allow to cool.
- Store in an air-tight Ziplock bag or Tupperware container.
